Security audits for websites and apps

Vigía Studio audits the security of websites, mobile apps, SaaS and APIs for companies, startups and freelancers, including those built with help from AI: we look for the flaws an attacker would exploit, flag the serious ones right away and deliver a clear report with what to fix and in what order.

What's included

We review your website, your app and its backend the way an attacker would, before a real one does, and give you a clear report of what to fix and in what order.

Technologies:OWASP Top 10OWASP API Top 10OWASP MASVSOWASP LLM Top 10
  • Website and server: the most common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and anything exposed by mistake
  • API and backend: every user only sees and touches their own data
  • Mobile app, database and cloud: keys, Supabase or Firebase rules and files
  • AI features: prompt injection, data leaks and what the AI does on its own

A good fit if you're about to launch an app or SaaS with users and data, you built it with help from AI, or a client is asking you for security guarantees.

This is a hands-on technical audit, not a certification or a compliance audit (ISO 27001, ENS). If your case needs more depth, the report will say so. eJPTv2 · INE(opens in a new tab)

01 — Security audit

Before launch, not after

The best moment to review an app's security is right before it goes public. Fixing a flaw at that stage takes hours; finding it once you have users can mean leaked customer data, a mandatory GDPR notification and trust that is hard to win back.

Security also comes up earlier and earlier: a large client asking for guarantees before hiring you, an investor who wants to know the product holds up, or an app store checking how you handle data. Arriving with an audit done saves you that conversation.

02 — Security audit

Apps built with help from AI

Coding with AI lets you ship in weeks what used to take months, but the assistant doesn't know your business or who should be able to see what. That's why we see the same flaws again and again in apps built this way: service keys baked into the app or browser code, open database rules, API routes that return another user's data by changing a single number, and chatbots that ignore their instructions after one well-crafted message.

Automated tools catch part of it. The flaws that do the most damage are logic flaws, and spotting them takes understanding how your product is supposed to work. That's where it helps that whoever audits also builds websites and apps every day: we know where they break because we know how they're built.

03 — Security audit

What we check

We follow OWASP's reference guides, the open organisation that defines how software security is reviewed, and adapt the scope to what you have: the website and server (OWASP Top 10), the API and backend (OWASP API Security Top 10), the mobile app (OWASP MASVS) and AI features (OWASP Top 10 for large language model applications).

In practice, we check whether one user can see or change another's data, whether login and password recovery can be bypassed, what the app stores on the phone, which keys and files anyone can reach, how the cloud database is configured and what your AI can be tricked into doing.

04 — Security audit

How we work

Before we start, we sign the scope and authorisation with you: which systems we review, on which dates and what is out of scope. Whenever possible we work on a test environment, and with access to the code we go further and faster, although it's not required.

If something serious comes up during the review, we tell you right away, without waiting for the report. Once you, your team or we fix it, we re-check the findings to confirm they're closed.

05 — Security audit

What you receive

A two-level report. A one-page summary in plain language for whoever makes decisions: where your product stands and what the business risks are. And the technical detail for whoever codes: each finding with its severity, how to reproduce it and how to fix it step by step, ordered by priority.

If you need it, we also give you a letter stating that the review was done and the fixes were verified, useful to show a client or an investor.

06 — Security audit

What it is not

It is not a certification or a compliance audit such as ISO 27001 or Spain's ENS, and we don't sell it as one. It is a technical audit covering what affects the vast majority of websites and apps. If the kind of data you handle or legal requirements mean your case needs something else, we'll tell you and point you in the right direction.

Questions about this service

Can't find yours? Write to us and we'll answer personally.

Can you audit a website or app you didn't build?

Yes, that's the usual case. It doesn't matter who built it, with what technology or whether AI helped. We only need permission from whoever owns the product.

Do I need to give you the code?

It's not required: the review can be done from the outside, as an attacker would. With access to the code and a test environment we go further in less time, so if you can, that's what we recommend.

Can it affect how my website or app works?

We work carefully, without destructive or load tests, and preferably on a test environment. If something more intrusive were ever needed, we agree it with you first.

Do you sign a confidentiality agreement?

Yes. Before we start we sign the scope, the authorisation and, if you need one, an NDA. What we see of your product stays within the audit.

How long does it take?

A website usually takes a few days. An app or SaaS with its backend, between one and three weeks depending on size, plus the report. The proposal gives you the exact date.

What if you find something serious?

We tell you right away, without waiting for the final report, and explain how to close it or close it ourselves if you ask. Serious findings don't wait.

How often should it be repeated?

Before every major launch, after big changes to how users or data are handled and, at the very least, once a year.

Shall we look at it for your business?

Tell us about your case and we'll reply with a concrete proposal, with a fixed scope and price.
